Red, black and white

This is another (and last) contest I wanted to join last month but didn't manage, and luckily had the deadline extended! ^^ I'm going to go back to drawing non-contest entries from now on, I swear!

In particular, this is for the Drawing Contest : Red Riding Hood held by Mr-Ripley that you can find here: fav.me/db0w0ix

It's obviously a scene from red riding hood... from above because I wanted to try this perspective ^^

I thought to make it only in white, black and red because of what Michel Pastoureau writes in his Le petit livre des couleurs (using the original title because it hasn't been translated in english, apparently). He says that the main colours percieved in the middle age where red, white and black. The other colours where just thought of as variations on those 3 (yellow as darker white, blue as light black, etc). Basically, he says that is the reason why in fairy tales the main colours are always these. The most fitting example was that of snow white (you know, white skin, black hair and red lips ^^) but I also remember Little Red Riding hood being mentioned for: girl wearing red, black wolf, white butter she delivers to the granny. I have my doubts on the butter being of any significance XD (why not the white-haired granny??), but still, I thought it was a good idea to use the colour scheme for the drawing.
